RH Custer 2013

RH Custer is a dark bay/black colt foal with International eventing bloodlines out of the blue blooded imported mare Scarlett Rising (2* Event mare). He is a nuggety, attractive colt and will be this wonderful old mare’s last foal. Regularly wormed, trimmed and lightly handled. EMH approx 16HH. 

Scarlett Rising is the only Primitive Rising brood-mare in New Zealand, Primitive Rising being the sire of Mary King's 2011 Rolex Kentucky Winning ride King’s Temptress along with William Fox-Pitt’s 2010 Rolex Kentucky winner 'Cool Mountain' and a number of other 4 star Eventers [Primitive Control (6th Badminton, 7th Burghley, competed for GB at the 2002 European championships), Primitive Streak (8th Bramham and Necarne), Jurassic Rising (3rd & 4th Bramham, 1st Blenheim, 5th Le Lion d'angers) and Limestone Rise (5th Chatsworth)] as well as siring the winner of the Burghley Young Event Horse on 5 occasions and being a leading National Hunt sire. He is also the sire of many successful show horses including Mountain Firefly, Cuddy Champion, Smart Thinking, champion under saddle and now a champion broodmare and Port Patrick; a multiple hunter champion including top UK bred 4 yr old at the Royal Show 2005. This is truly modern sporthorse breeding! Scarlett Rising’s previous offspring include Cilfton Pledge who went Intermediate with Jonathan Paget. 

RH Custer is by RH Drum of the West, a super young TB stallion purpose bred along classic NZ eventing lines, being royally bred to do the job. He has a super bold careful jump and a massive canter but best of all, he has a fantastic gentle temperament.
